Alpinon is a realm of mountains and vigilance, a buffer between Eastfæld and the western Wastes beyond the Ebon Mountains.  Its forests are dotted with firespear trees, which grow where fires have burned and blaze golden in the autumn.



The Three Shades, a triple waterfall near Alpinon's largest city of Highstone, is the site of legendary tragedy.  Three ladies who waited here in vain for their partners to return from the Bitter Wars are said to haunt the falls. 
The north road from Highstone leads to the village of Clerestone and on to other villages in Alpinon.
